Cub Scout Camping

Day Camp Buddies

It's summer time & time for Cub Scout Day Camp! Will you choose Weird Science or Down At The Farm?!

This year Cub Scout Day Camp will be hands-on and virtual. We know kids need the hands-on, socially interactive aspect of camping, but we want to be sure all our campers and day camp staff are super safe to enjoy the rest of the summer. Whichever location you choose, Day Camp is going to be a blast. We have new certified directors ready to make this year the best year.

For new Scout Families, you may have a few questions. Feel free to contact your unit leader or the Council Service Center so you and your Scout will Be Prepared and eager for Day Camp this June.

Is Day Camp Run By Qualified Adults? Absolutely. Cub Scout Day Camps are facilitated by local councils and individuals who serve as camp director, program director and must be nationally certified by taking the National Camping School Day Camp Administration section.

What About Shooting Sports? Cub Scout shooting sports programs such as archery, BB gun shooting, and slingshot shooting are restricted to day camps, Cub Scout/Webelos Scout resident camps, and council-led family camps where there are properly trained supervisors and where all standards for BSA shooting sports are enforced. All shooting ranges in the Cub Scout program are supervised by a qualified range master.

What If I Cannot Afford To Send My Child To Camp? Scouting is for Everyone. No matter what the financial situation. United Way of Baldwin County and private community partners in our council have paved the way for any scout in need to attend activities. Turn in either Council Campership Application for Five Rivers District or United Way of Baldwin County Application by April 30.
