Financial Support of Scouting |
| Encouraging financial gifts to the Boy Scouts of America is one of Scouting's highest priorities. As Scouting in the council continues to grow, so do the demands upon the programs and facilities of the council. The Mobile Area Council's "Partner In Character" initiative has embarked upon three programs to help ensure the success of our outstanding programs and to be able to provide the resources to maintain our properties. These programs are the Family Friends of Scouting (FFOS), Community Friends of Scouting (FOS), and Endowment & Planned Giving programs, |

Make A Gift |
| Financial support comes from many different sources. We run a variety of special events such as Golden Eagle Dinners and Luncheons to honor community leaders, plus Golf and Sporting Clays Tournaments. All of these and more, tell the story of the council, and raise funds to support our numerous programs. Strong family and corporate support allows us to make focused efforts within our communities for major gifts. Hundreds of companies, organizations, and leaders not even registered in Scouting continually make the Mobile Area Council their charity. | |
| Endowments | Your gift is invested in a Mobile Area Council Trust Fund and only the interest may be used for programming. The principal may never be used, so your gift is one that lasts forever. |
| Planned Giving | Life Insurance policies, Wills and Bequests are the most familiar and widely used way to benefit Scouting at some future time. It is how many donors choose to establish a legacy after their lifetime. |
| James E. West Fellowship | The James E. West Fellowship Award is a national recognition for individuals who contribute $1,000 or more in cash or securities to their local Council Endowment Trust Fund. This contribution is in addition to and does not replace the donor’s annual gift to the Council’s Friends of Scouting and Family Membership Enrollment Campaigns. |
| The 1910 Society | The 1910 Society membership is available to donors who make gifts of $25,000 or more in cash, securities, land, long-term pledges, or other property suitable for a council endowment. |
| The Founders Circle | The Founders Circle recognizes deferred gifts designated to council endowments of a minimum value of $100,000. These gifts come from charitable bequests, charitable trusts, annuities, life insurance, or other gifts as approved by the council. |
